ConsTest is an open own choice brass band competition taking place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, on Saturday 6th April 2024. Boasting a modern take on brass banding, bands will perform in the brilliant Bradshaw Hall, competing for numerous prizes, including Denis Wick, Geneva, Mercer & Barker and Alliance products, and the chance to work with virtuosos. ConsTest 2024 follows on from the success of the inaugural event and will feature Ian Porthouse and Ryan Watkins as adjudicators. Looking towards the future, the event continues to work with an appropriate registration system facing the player crisis head on and a desire to provide a day of endless musical indulgence for all involved - just one example of the modernistic takes on banding that ConsTest has. After a great day of competing, Flowers Band will perform their ‘Alice in Wonderland’ set at the Gala Concert, with the Fluorescent Brassolescents and The Ambrassadors seeing the day out in style, in the Eastside Jazzclub.
